Thursday, February 28, 2008;

You grew up watching He-man, MASK, Transformers, Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse cartoons. Not to forget, Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony and Smurfs too. You played with Playmobil and Fisher Price "action figures".
You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school during recess time. You squatted by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brushed your teeth with a coloured mug. The teachers said you must brush each side 10 times too.
You know what SBC stands for.
You paid 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry Milk every week in class.
You watched a very popular Malay-dubbed Japanese drama on RTM1 about schoolgirls who possessed powerful skills in volleyball called Meoro Attack.
You found your friends with pagers and handphones cool in secondary school.
SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats were made of wood and the cushion was red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP! when pressed. There were colourful tickets for TIBS buses. The conductor would check for tickets by using a machine which punched a hole in the ticket.
Envelopes were given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day.
You've probably read the Young Generation magazine. You know who is Vinny the little Vampire and A-Cai the Constable.
You were there when they first introduced MRT here. You went for the first ride with your parents and you would kneel on the seat to see the scenery.
Movie tickets used to cost only $3.50.
Gals are fascinated by Strawberry Short Cake and Barbie Dolls.
You learn to laugh like The Count in Sesame Street.
You longed to buy tibits called Kaka (20 cents per pack), and Ding Dang (50 cents per box), that had a toy in it and it changes every week not forgetting the 15 cents animal crackers and the ring pop, where the lollipop is the diamond on the ring.
You watched TV2 (also known as Channel 10) cartoons because Channel 5 never had enough cartoons for you.
Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five and Secret Seven are probably the thickest story books you ever thought you have read. Even Sweet Valley High and Malory Towers.
KFC used to be a high class restaurant that serve food in porcelain plates and let you use metal forks and knives.
The most vulgar thing you said was "asshole" and "idiot" and THE MOST EXTREME was "super white"... you just couldn't bring yourself to say the Hokkien relative.
Catching was the IN thing and twist was the magic word.
Your English workbooks were made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow.
CDIS was your best friend.
The only computer lessons in school involved funny pixellated characters in 16 colours walking about trying to teach you Maths.
Waterbottles were slung around your neck and a "must" everywhere you go.
Boys loved to play soccer with small plastic balls in the basketball court.
Teng-teng, five stones, chapteh, hentam bola and zero point were all the rage withthe girls and boys too.
Science was fun with the balsam and the angsana being the most important plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most important fish.
Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei and John, eternalized in our minds from the textbooks. Even Mr Wally & Mr Yakki. What abt Miss Lala? And Zaki and Tini in Malay textbooks.
You carried out experiments of your own to get our badges for being a "Young Zoologist", "Young Botanist" etc.
Every Children's Day and National Day you either get pins or pens with "Happy Children's Day 1993" or dumb files with "Happy National Day 1994".
In Primary Five or Six, you had to play buddy for the younger kids like big sister and brother.
You wore BM2000, BATA, or Pallas school shoes.
Your form teacher taught you Maths, Science and English.
The worksheets were made of brown rough paper of poor quality.
You went to school in slippers and a raincoat when it rained, and you found a dry spot in the school to sit down, dry your feet, and wear your dry and warm socks and shoes.
School dismissal time was normally around 1250 pm.
There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost everyday.
Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you $3 or more for pocket money everyday.
You saw Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall.
You freaked out when the teacher tells you to line up according to height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl.
Boys liked to catch fighting spiders.
Collecting and battling erasers were pastimes for boys.
Autograph books were loaded with "Best Wishes", "Forget Me Not", and small poems like "Bird fly high, hard to catch. Friends like you, hard to forget.".
Class monitors and prefects loved to say "You talk somemore, I write your name ah!"
There were at least 40 people in one class.
Large, colourful schoolbags were carried.
You brought every single book to school, even though there was one thing called the timetable.
You watched Star Wars and Back To The Future in the cinema, Mandarin-dubbed ATV TV serials on Channel 8 and Remington Steele and CHiPs on Channel 5.

With love to the Gen Xs and Ys. Fond memories. =)

School and work is tying me down. I am so tired. I wished I can slow down my pace and take 10 steps back. I wanna take a nice long rest. Sigh. Sometimes I ask why I am going thru all this when many others can take it easy. Oh well, I shall not complain, everyone is different, I probably am not fated for such planned route. As they always say, we walk our own road, no others can manipulate or it shall be meaningless. Ain't it? =)

Deployed on Saturday @ East Coast for an event! My goodness, I have 2 more off-in-lieus to clear!!! Hafta wake up at 5am. -_-

Am currently addicted tothe following songs:
Angela Zhang Shao Han - Bu (4) Xiang(3) Dong(3) De(1)
Wang Lan Yin - Er(4) Zuo(4) Ju(4)

SO NICE!!!!! I love Angela's hair in her show, so NICE!!!!! I heard there is a 3rd generation of permed hair. Woohoo..... so tempted to perm my hair again! Ok nono!!!! CONTROL WANJUN!!!! I have a thing for curly wurly hair! But then again, I think I am gonna cut my hair short! Kinda got used to my long hair, once in awhile shld have shorter hair too! :)

Fel, STOP IT! Dun ask me to SPEND!! NOOOOOO....... I bought a $42 Shiseido mascara lately. I think its the MOST EXPENSIVE mascara I ever bought but its damn GOOD, lengthens and curls my lashes like MAD, seems like I put on faux lashes. The brand and value proved its worthiness indeed!

Alrighty, time to get ready to sleep. I have lack of sleep lately, which maybe explains why my eyes became smaller. HAHA!

Ok enough of nonsense, goodnight! =D

My teeth hurts.... like MAD.... Dentist was in a good mood today despite me being late for 20 mins. =P She put the rubber bands connecting the top and bottom molars for me today, I cant talk or eat properly. There is a stretchy feeling.... ppl who have worn it before will know. Sigh, And I have to cut down on the talking and munching until my jaw aligns at least. -_-

Here's how it looks like. Damn unglam..... But I cant be bothered la... haha.

The rubber bands is actually SO SMALL! -_- Can u imagine it Stretched??? So pain.....

Apparently the rubber bands are there to align my jaw so that my teeth will look really aligned both top and bottom..... hurts like mad now, not just the teeth, but the gums as well. Sigh. BUT I am loving the way the teeth is now.... looks good teeth, esp the top teeth! Hehe =D I cant wait to see the end results!!! After like 2 and a half years for now..... I remember I put the braces for a wrong reason..... Haha... but I am not regretting it, YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Wahaha... so cute.... the only difference is that mine is a ceramic braces!

Oh ya.... not forgetting:

The aloe vera that looks good......... But taste like crap....

The mango sago on the other hand was good! But I tot its a lil too sweet.

And both fefe and me went home with much goodies yesterday! =D

Hmmmm full cream milk din taste as bad as it seems. In fact, the meiji one is really good, within two days, I gobbled down close to 1 litre of white full cream fresh milk. =D

It was a damn tough choice between meiji and Magnolia, I was really racking my brains, close fight I would say. I used to drink the Magnolia chocolate milk instead of the white one cuz I tot white milk..... sucks. BUT THEN, it actually tasted quite good! I root for MEIJI!!!!!=D

Well, though I dislike drinking white milk, I dun hate it as much as I hate ALOE VERA WITH LIME AND HONEY. -_- Went to Ah Chew just now with Fel, I gave her choices of "Grass Jelly with lychee", "Ice lemon tea" and "Aloe Vera with lime and honey" to decide for me wad to eat (I was wanting to eat the grass jelly already) and guess wad, I think she is trying to murder me. She chose that Aloe Vera dessert, I was abit skeptical of it BUT 3 years of friendship on the line, I trusted her truly but sad to say, my nitemare came true........... the dessert TASTED LIKE CRAP!

Maybe Aloe Vera is just NOT my cup of tea. It tasted.......... BITTER, somehow. Damn it. I added strawberries and tons of honey inside, it just wouldn't work!! I think I shld send myself for a taste bud check..... horrible experience. -_- I WILL NOT TRY ALOE VERA AGAIN. Though ppl always say Aloe Vera is GOOD FOR SKIN and yada yada. But...... NO WAY am I putting myself thru that horrible thing again, not in the name of good skin as well, I will just work doubly hard by drinking more water and sleeping earlier everyday!!!!

Bugis was GOOD, walked till my leg almost broke..... went home with tons of good buys! Oooooh I love Nichii, the one at Vivo, AWESOME!

Did anyone went laughing to the bank with 1 million??? Lucky winners man...... Oh well, such windfalls are not meant to be anyway......

Saw Edison's PressCon yesterday on the noose....... He is ever so good looking man...... and when he spoke that fluent, slightly slanged English...... I think it melted many girls' hearts, mine almost too! Well though he has "done wrong" but I guess it's best for him to retreat somewhere for awhile now...... Poor Gillian Chung, but she is still pretty. =)

Just got back my second module results!!!!! All I can say is......... I am satisfied..... really. But Wanjun must still continue to work hard....... =D

Okok, talk abt beauty sleep when its like 1.25am now, hafta see my dentist tml, lets hope her mood is good tml, if not......... -_-

GOODNITE! :)

THE PARKWAY ATTACK

Saturday, 12.09pm:
I woke up feeling a lil' tired..... must be the long night of watching some Taiwanese drama. Kylie is doing his Air Show, no time to accompany me. I tot, fine, I will stay at home to watch "Gong Zhu Xiao Mei" (Romantic Princess now showing on teevee) by Angela Zhang Shao Han and Wu Zun (Oh man, he is DAMN handsome). I din know why but I suddenly had an urge to pick up my phone, searched thru the phonebook and saw a familiar name, dialed it and the line rang.

"Hello...", this familiar but husky voice.

Me: "FEL! WHERE ARE YOU???"

"Erm Paya Lebar."

Me again: "Why u sound so sian?"

"{sigh} Bad mood la..."

Me: "Oh..... You're at Paya Lebar ar......" {Hint hint}

"Eh u wanna go for lunch not?"

Me: "OKAYE! And we can talk abt your bad mood later."

The Saturday started.
And so, fel appeared at my doorstep 15 mins later. Haha, it was SOOOOOO RANDOM!!!!

It's been.............. 249825802 years ago since we did such random stuff, I remembered the last time we did that was exactly 1 year back when we just graduated from Ngee Ann. We would hit town, shop and laze around at Macs to munch on fries. Ido believe now that the malls are built for us!!!!! Thanks Fel! My life could have been in a worse state if you or emo weren't around that time for me! Oh ya, finally passed her the Xmas present, mind u, its so LAST YEAR can...... -_- Now we know who NOT to buy xmas present for if u dun wan the present to collect dust or take up space in the house. Haha!

Anyway, back to the Saturday. We were thinking of where to go, then I suggested PARKWAY since its near my house and I wanted to go for the mphosis sale (nearest outlet to my house!). After persuading her for like 10 mins, she finally relented. Wahaha..... And off to Parkway it is! Makan-ed at Ichiban Sushi, awesome!! Its so good to be able to enjoy a good lunch and gossip about anything and everything! We paid $40 but sat there like, forever.

Shopped aroundwhile she complains that Parkway is just NOT the place to go. But guess what? She went home with many big and small bags, I guess that can change her mind abt wad she said earlier on. HAHA! Ohhhh the mphosis sales was so-so, not as many good buys as last year's one, but I still managed to get myself a pair of shorts, a top and a bag! Wanted to get one Chanel-looking shorts but fel just had to give me a dirty look. HAHA! It was nice ok, but I guess it wasnt much of my style. Oh ya, somehow we kept bumping into this mid-age woman in bright blue jumper, couldnt help but kept laughing about it cuz we thot that jumper dun really suit a mid-age woman?? Oh well, like I always say, fashion is subjective. Teehee.....

Took damn long to choose stockings also, took abt 20 mins just choosing on the texture of the stockings alone. Almost froze to death in Isetan cuz both of us were wearing super short dress. Haha. I was contemplating on buying a bright pink stockings ok! So nice! But I guess Singaporeans cannot accept the burst of fashionistic ideologies. Haha.

Walked around looking for my stuff.... Saw lots of things I like!!!! Wanted to buy this dead sea scrub and mask from a push cart store!! The products are from Israel and smart Fel made a really lousy comment... haha..... "Wanjun you just hope to be holy-ier by using the Israel products right?". -_- Only fel can think of such LAME comments, I think she hang out with her bf too much, the aftermath. Tsk tsk.

After some time, we realised that it was DINNER TIME! Whole time, we were complaining thirsty but din buy any drink to drink. Haha. Wanted to eat at the food court but tot that the food court might be quite sian cuz of the crowd and all so we headed over to HK cafe just behind parkway, near Roxy Sq! And so it was Katong! Had a sumptous dinner, peppered with tons of gossips again..... mainly on her bf and how lame he is. HAHA! Our main aim was to eat the Mango Ice but that particular HK cafe din have any, we even contemplated on going to Bugis to eat Almond Paste @ Ah Chew! Haha..... But finally, we settled for Scoopz ice cream back at Parkway, and thats after walking to Katong Shopping Complex, realising the dessert store was CLOSED for the day. -_-

We din really feel like going home after hanging out for close to 10 hours! Haha, it was good! A friends-only therapy. Ate like ALOT that day too.

It felt really good and perhaps that was what I needed, away from work and bitchiness, away from school........ The only few times I dun have to think ALOT or get stressed over things. Sometimes I feel that, I have aged..... alot...... the corporate life somehow changed me, into someone.... not as chirpy as I used to be..... someone...... whom I cannot recognise at times and it can get very very tiring..... people often ask, how do I handle work and school at the same time, sometimes, I dun even know how to answer but just move on with it. The comforting thing is that, I know I am not alone..... I guess never was. :) Being optimistic is what keeps me moving and maybe rewarding myself with a good meal or some shopping helps too!

Geri Tan! I know ure also facing the same thing as me but remember to stay happy like how I knew you were! Read the entry on our sec sch days, HORRIBLE PICTURES, or maybe, its the subject of the pics which made it bad! Haha.

Emo and fel, let's meet up next Friday after my work and we'll hit Bugis! =D

A Liberated Life.
On a random note, after looking at Mabel's recent blog entry on her new life in Perth, I suddenly feel so liberated for her! I mean not that she is not when she used to be here, but somehow, you know that you grow up here, all your friends and family are here, someone to control your life. Haha..... I am probably very very envious of my friends who are able to go overseas to study. Not that I dun like Singapore, I very appreciative of our country in fact but I guess I am waiting for a chance to experience a different life, a different culture, to see how it feels like to stay on my own, fend for myself and control my own life. My parents dun control me alot, in fact they give me a lot of freedom which I am very thankful for, but I guess staying alone abroad tends to make one more independent, something I am yearning for. I guess if ever there is this chance, I really wun mind going overseas to stay for a period of time, though I will really miss my friends and family.... :( Oh well, I guess when you want one thing, u have to in other way, give up another.

P.S: MABELLLL!!!! How can u say we all suck????? WE MISS YOU!!!! :(((( Come back soon la!

A Lazy Sunday.
On more random note, go catch Gong(1) Zhu(3) Xiao(3) Mei(4) k.... I slept at 5am just now cuz I was watching the show!!!! For Wu Zun or for the show, whatever. Haha. I love the show! Went to Church at 8am and came back to continue watching it for the whole day! Technically, I slept only 2 hours. =P Caught Around The World In 80 Days on ch5 just now, a super hilarious show! Next up, "Er Zuo Ju Zhi Wen"! I am sucha teevee junkie!

Alrighty, I think this is a super emo post, I thought a lot on the past these few days, I guess I probably miss the good ole' days, if only I could turn back time. :)
